托福口语考试中常见的租房场景大家一定都不陌生，面对此类话题，多多储备素材才是制胜的法宝。今天小编给大家整理了各种租房时需要用到的托福口语。

　　1. I checked the classifieds, but I didn’t see anything in my price range.

　　classifieds: 分类广告，报纸上有分栏的租房广告那种;

　　price range: 价格预算;

　　例句：My price range is $500-$800.我价格预算在500-800美金。

　　原句意思为：我都看过那些租房广告了，但没看到我价格预算范围的。

　　2. The apartment is fully furnished and has a balcony overlooking the park.

　　furnished：已经配备家具了的;

　　还有一种就是semi-furnished.因为semi表示‘一半’;所以semi-furnished表示配了少量家具;

　　balcony表示阳台

　　overlook表示俯视俯瞰

　　原句意思为：公寓已经配备完整家具了，而且还有一个可以俯瞰公园的阳台。

　　3. I can’t afford to live there alone, so I’m looking for a roommate.

　　can’t afford 表示‘付不起’，可以加名词，也可以加to do.

　　比如：(1) I can’t afford this car.这辆车我买不起;(2) I can’t afford to travel to Canada.加拿大旅行我去不起。

　　roommate表示室友，口语里也说roomie.

　　原句意思为：我一个人住那的话住不起，所以我在找室友分担费用。

　　4. I’m looking for a spacious apartment in an upscale neighborhood.

　　spacious表示空间很大;upscale neighborhood表示富人区，高端住宅区。

　　原句意思为：我在找一个在高端住宅区并且空间比较大的公寓。

　　5. To move in, you need to pay the first and last month’s rent plus a security deposit.

　　move in表示搬进来;rent表示租金;security deposit则为押金保证金。

　　原句意思为：如果你要搬进来住的话，你得付第一个月和最后一个月的租金以及押金。

　　6. On average, the utilities come to about $150 a month.

　　on average: 平均来说;一般来说;

　　utilities: 水电费; come to:总计

　　原句意思为：一般来说，每个月水电费等加起来差不多150美金。

　　7. There’s no washing machine or dryer in the apartment, but there’s a laundromat nearby.

　　washing machine = 洗衣机; dryer = 干燥机 ;laundromat = 自助洗衣店

　　原句意思为：公寓里没有洗衣机和干燥机，但附近有自助洗衣店。

　　8. My sister is subletting her studio apartment for 3 months while she travels to Europe.

　　sublet = 暂时转租; studio apartment =单间公寓;

　　这里的studio apartment指的是厨房卧室都在同一房间的单间，巨小;

　　而one-bedroom apartment指的是卧室和厨房分开的单卧室公寓;

　　英国人叫studio flat.

　　原句意思为：我姐姐因为要去欧洲旅行三个月，所以想把她的单间公寓暂时转租掉。

　　9. The landlord is offering a two-year lease with an option to renew.

　　landlord=房东;landlady=女房东; lease =租期租约; renew=续签

　　原句意思为：房东愿意租给你两年，并且可以让你到时续租。

　　10. The building is a bit run-down, but the apartment itself was recently renovated.

　　run-down=破旧的; renovated =翻新过了的; 也可以说refurbished/ remodeled.

　　原句意思为：这幢楼有点破旧，但公寓本身是最近刚刚翻修过的。
