  In the lecture, the professor is illustrating two characteristics of effective feedback. The first is properly timed, which means feedback should be offered in the proper time to help students. For example, an art teacher should give his feedback to the students during the teaching term, letting the students have enough time to review these suggestions and remarks and practice skills according to the teacher’s requirement. The second feature is that effective feedback will focus on the work, not on the students themselves. For example, if a student hands in a bad homework, the art teacher can offer him some specific suggestions, like that ‘you choose the improper colors’, to make the students realize his weakness and get to know how to practice and make progress, rather than telling this student that he is a bad painter.
