环球教育小编为大家总结托福独立写作:团队创新话题(2017年2月18日托福考试真题),希望能帮助大家更好的备考托福。
话题分类:团队和创新话题
考题回忆:Do you agree or disagree? In a team, a person who is willing to do what other group members want is more useful than a person who strongly insists that things should be done in a way that is different from what other members wants to do.
解题思路:本题考题是比较常见的合作和创新话题.同类型的题目见 185 篇托福写作练习中的 Topic78(Is it more important to be able to work with a group of people on a team or to work independently? Use reasons and specific examples to support your answer.)
Two major types of team members are commonplace in a team. Obedient members can be plain and therefore catastrophic if organized without original thinking. On the other hand, innovative members are definitely a plus to fuel the team with motives of creativity but could also place the team in risk. The more useful members could be either the submissive staff or the creative ones depending on the different goals the teams aim to achieve.
Certain teams are established around the idea of nurturing the creative side of a member.Teams like these include debate teams, software-programming teams, space exploration teams and archaeological teams. To force any one of the members to be consistent with others would indeed confine one’s personal creativity. Which member would be more productive in a software-programming team, a compliant programmer that could only mimic the established modules or an innovative elite who could possibly generate the highlight of a game software program. Useful team members are built on the premise that the interest should be cultured and refined, and their ability to be creative could best achieve this. Therefore, a team member personal styles with too much obedient personality could teardown progress in the area of personal creativity.
On the other hand, originality can sometimes tear down the entire program, as in the military. Military cohorts are established on the foundation of obedience. The whole organization runs on orders. The orders come from the top, most often with no explanation at all. The effectiveness of the system is based on the ready compliance of the subordinates to follow the orders. Originality in this kind of environment could have devastating outcomes, even death. The purpose of doing what others want is to strip away personal ideas that may conflict with the overall mission of the military as a whole. Complying with others ideas might even serve the most basic of functions, such as building up a high sense of team spirit and the awareness of teamwork. This type of team members, by obeying what is requested, enables team to be prepared for the real thing in the military, perhaps with the safety of a nation at stake. There is no easy answer to cover all the aspects.
In closing, the personality of members, whether it be compliant or original, holds a very important function in some types of teams, but not in all. In highly innovative teams, the goal of diversified and prolific ideas from the team member could fuel the team with energy to stick to the destination. In opposition, other places will never completely accept the idea of the same look, because it goes against the principles of every team member alike.
